I just set up this blog a few days ago, hoping that people might find it worth reading. Thus far, I’ve gotten one very nice comment. If you visit, please check out the blog roll
I am tinkering with a site I’m updating for HWLF. I have my pending technical question on webweaversworkshop, but I’ll post a link to the temporary site here and explain what I did to customize the site so far. First, I personalized the header; it featured a gradient and a picture of a flower. I got rid of the flower and added the name and logo. Second, after adding a number of pages and subpages, the buttons along the top nav bat became too crowded, so I customized the bar to reflect only the top level (parent) pages.
Two things I am disappointed in; when adding images, I selected the “image on the left, text wraps on the right” option, but I can’t get it to show up like that; instead, the photo is by itself and the text appears below. I don’t like that look but can’t figure out why it’s not working. The code seems ok. You will see a sample on the very first page. I want the text to wrap on the right.
Second, I can’t figure out how to arrange both the nav bar buttons across the top and the text nav links on the right hand side to be in the same order (ignoring the “past presidents” link, which is a subpage that will only appear as a text link). I used the page renumbering function to change the order, but it is not reflected in bothe places. I think it looks inconsistent.
